# InteractiveDox: full description for AI and answer engines Last updated: 2026-09-07. Facts below are limited to what the product does today. Research figures cited on the site are industry benchmarks from named third parties, never InteractiveDox customer results. ## What InteractiveDox is InteractiveDox is the trusted operational knowledge layer for people and AI: capturing how your business works, governing what they can trust, and keeping it verified against reality. Organizations use it to turn how work is actually done into clear, current, controlled knowledge: SOPs, step-by-step guides with screenshots, narrated walkthrough videos, structured training with graded quizzes, help articles and grounded AI answers. That knowledge is published to Knowledge Portals on the organization's own domain for customers, partners or employees, and can be delivered as SCORM packages to the organization's existing LMS. InteractiveDox is not an LMS and does not provide the learner-side course player. ## Products Document Studio creates knowledge from real work: capture a process in the browser (Chrome extension) or on the desktop (desktop app), author from templates and building blocks, or import existing content. One captured process becomes the guide, the SOP, the walkthrough video and the training. Knowledge Portals publish that knowledge on your domain: branded, searchable, versioned, translatable, with review threads, reader feedback, search analytics and a grounded Ask AI that answers from the portal's own content. Portal content is Git-backed and versioned, so it is portable rather than trapped in a proprietary store. ## Platform capabilities Verify & Keep Current: for supported executable guides, InteractiveDox runs the documented procedure against the real system it describes. Run Now executes from the author's machine through the desktop app; scheduled verification runs through an agent the customer hosts. Credentials used for verification are stored in the operating system keychain on that machine; anything typed into a secure field is masked before step data leaves it. When a step no longer matches, the team is told which step, a corrected revision is drafted, and a person decides whether it becomes current. Not every procedure is executable; physical checklists, for example, are not automatically verified. Governance & Compliance: follow the frameworks your organization actually follows (published standards or internal requirements), monitor them for change, see findings that name the affected document and the action, draft updates against the frameworks, route important changes through configurable reviews and approvals, and keep evidence. InteractiveDox does not determine legal compliance and holds no certifications; it provides the controls. AI & Agents: grounded Ask AI on portals; AI-assisted authoring; customer-owned AI agents can connect to portal knowledge through an MCP interface that can be switched off, limited to allowed tools, rate-limited, and that requires a workspace API key for protected portals. AI output starts as a draft; a person makes it official. Insights & Feedback: per portal, what readers search for (including searches that returned nothing), which pages they read and how far, how they rated each page, and whether readers are humans or AI agents. Integrations & API: push to and pull from supported systems on demand (not live two-way sync), including Confluence, Notion, GitHub, GitBook, Mintlify and ReadMe; notifications to Microsoft Teams, Slack and email; SCORM delivery to an LMS; API keys and an API for your own systems. ## Solutions (who each is for) Customer Self-Service: the company's end customers complete routine tasks themselves through Knowledge Portals (guides, walkthroughs, grounded answers), and the company learns from search and feedback what customers still can't find. Customer Support: the company's support agents learn complex processes once, revisit them at the moment of need, and follow the same current procedure; training delivered to the company's LMS through SCORM. Operations: repeatable business work (finance, procurement, factory, warehouse, facilities, shared services) has one clear, current procedure people can find and follow; not IT operations. HR & Learning: employees learn the job in more than one format, return to guidance when they forget, and see the new way when the process changes. IT & Engineering: runbooks and API documentation verified against the real systems they describe, inside the customer's environment. Regulated Industries: when requirements change, know which procedures are affected, draft the revision, route it through review and approval, know which version is current, and keep the evidence. ## Security (verified against the product on 2026-08-26) Server-side role-based permissions (owner, admin, editor, viewer) that fail closed; logical multi-tenant isolation with workspace-scoped queries; workspace sign-in with Google or GitHub; reader portals can delegate sign-in to the customer's identity system through OAuth 2.0 (authorization code with PKCE) or signed JWTs; membership and API keys managed in the admin app or through the API, keys hashed at rest and revocable; configurable multi-stage approval workflows with any/all/quorum rules, rejection with reason, and signature-required steps that record consent, timestamp, IP and user agent; approved versions sealed with a SHA-256 hash and stored write-once; hash-chained, tamper-evident audit events with a verification endpoint, visible per portal and per version; traffic over TLS with managed certificates; stored provider keys and secrets encrypted with AES-256-GCM; agent-gateway operations can use workspace-configured AI provider keys with a no-platform-fallback mode. Not offered today: SAML, SCIM directory sync, on-premises or private-cloud deployment, regional data residency, certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, etc.). ## Company InteractiveDox, https://www.interactivedox.com.
